Hungering and thirsting for the Word of God:
Amos
8:11-14
11 "Behold, the days are coming," says the Lord GOD,
"That I will send a famine on the land,
Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing
the words of the LORD.
12 They shall wander from sea to sea, And from north to east;
They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the LORD, But shall
not find it.
13 "In that day the fair virgins And strong young men
Shall faint from thirst.
14 Those who swear by the sin of Samaria, Who say, 'As your god
lives, O Dan!'
And, 'As the way of Beersheba lives!' They shall fall and never
rise again."
Lamentations
2:9-10
9 Her gates have sunk into the ground; He has destroyed and broken
her bars. Her king and her princes are among the nations; The
Law is no more, And her prophets find no vision from the LORD.
10 The elders of the daughter of Zion Sit on the ground and keep
silence;
Ezekiel
7:26
26 Disaster will come upon disaster, And rumor will be upon rumor.
Then they will seek a vision from a prophet; But the law will
perish from the priest, And counsel from the elders.
The truth in you:
Hosea 5:9
9 Among the tribes of Israel I make known what is sure.
Deuteronomy
30:11-14
11 "For this commandment which I command you today is not
too mysterious for you, nor is it far off.
12 It is not in heaven, that you should say, 'Who will ascend
into heaven for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and
do it?'
13 Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, 'Who will go
over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and
do it?'
14 But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it.
John
6:44-46
44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him;
and I will raise him up at the last day.
45 It is written in the prophets, 'And they shall all be taught
by God.' Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the
Father comes to Me.
46 Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from
God; He has seen the Father.
Romans 1:18-21
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness
and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God
has shown it to them.
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes
are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made,
even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,
21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as
God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and
their foolish hearts were darkened.
Romans
2:12-16
12 For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without
law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the
law
13 (for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God,
but the doers of the law will be justified;
14 for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the
things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law
to themselves,
15 who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their
conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their
thoughts accusing or else excusing them)
16 in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus
Christ, according to my gospel.
Colossians
1:21-23
21 And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by
wicked works, yet now He has reconciled
22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy,
and blameless, and above reproach in His sight -
23 if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast,
and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard,
which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I,
Paul, became a minister.
Hebrews
8:10-12
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of
Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws in
their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their
God, and they shall be My people.
11 None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother,
saying, 'Know the LORD,' for all shall know Me, from the least
of them to the greatest of them.
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their
sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more."
James
1:21
21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness,
and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to
save your souls.
1
John 2:26-27
26 These things I have written to you concerning those who try
to deceive you.
27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in
you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same
anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and
is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in
Him.
The gift of the Holy Spirit:
Isaiah
63:9-11
9 In His love and in His pity He redeemed them; And He bore them
and carried them All the days of old.
10 But they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit; So He turned
Himself against them as an enemy, And He fought against them.
11 Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying: "Where is He who brought them up out of the sea With the
shepherd of His flock? Where is He who put His Holy Spirit within
them...?
Matthew
3:16-17
16 When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the
water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw
the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.
17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying,"This is
My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
Matthew
28:19-20
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you;
and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
Amen.
Matthew
12:31-32
31 "Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will
be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not
be forgiven men.
32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be
forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will
not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.
John
14:15-28
15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper,
that He may abide with you forever -
17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because
it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells
with you and will be in you.
18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
19 "A little while longer and the world will see Me no more,
but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also.
20 At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in
Me, and I in you.
21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves
Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will
love him and manifest Myself to him."
22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, "Lord, how is it that
You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?"
23 Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he
will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come
to him and make Our home with him.
24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word
which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent Me.
25 "These things I have spoken to you while being present
with you.
26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send
in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance
all things that I said to you.
27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the
world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled,
neither let it be afraid.
28 You have heard Me say to you, 'I am going away and coming back
to you.' If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, 'I
am going to the Father,' for My Father is greater than I.
John
15:26-27
26
when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from
the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father,
He will testify of Me.
27 And you also will bear witness, because you have been with
Me from the beginning.
John
16:13-15
13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide
you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority,
but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things
to come.
14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare
it to you.
15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that
He will take of Mine and declare it to you.
1
Corinthians 2:9-12
9 But as it is written: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has
prepared for those who love Him."
10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the
Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of
the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God
except the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the
Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have
been freely given to us by God.
Ephesians
4:29-30
29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is
good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the
hearers.
30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were
sealed for the day of redemption.
God's
thoughts toward us exceed number:
Psalms
40:5
5 Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works Which You have
done; And Your thoughts toward us Cannot be recounted to You in
order; If I would declare and speak of them, They are more than
can be numbered.
Psalms
139:17-18
17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great
is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they would be more in number than the
sand; When I awake, I am still with You.
God
permits tests but never tempts:
Exodus
16:4-5
4 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Behold, I will rain bread
from heaven for you. And the people shall go out and gather a
certain quota every day, that I may test them, whether they will
walk in My law or not.
5 And it shall be on the sixth day that they shall prepare what
they bring in, and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily."
Jeremiah
11:20
20 But, O LORD of hosts, You who judge righteously, Testing the
mind and the heart,
Jeremiah
12:3
3 But You, O LORD, know me; You have seen me, And You have tested
my heart toward You.
Matthew
4:1-11
1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be
tempted by the devil.
2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward
He was hungry.
3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, "If You are
the Son of God, command that these stones become bread."
4 But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not
live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the
mouth of God.'"
5 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the
pinnacle of the temple,
6 and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself
down. For it is written: 'He shall give His angels charge over
you, 'and, 'In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash
your foot against a stone.'"
7 Jesus said to him, "It is written again, 'You shall not
tempt the LORD your God.'"
8 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain,
and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.
9 And he said to Him, "All these things I will give You if
You will fall down and worship me."
10 Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! For it
is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only
you shall serve.'"
11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered
to Him.
1
Thessalonians 3:5
5 For this reason, when I could no longer endure it, I sent to
know your faith, lest by some means the tempter had tempted you,
and our labor might be in vain.
Hebrews
4:15
15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with
our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without
sin.
James
1:13-15
13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God";
for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.
14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires
and enticed.
15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and
sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.
God
calls, man chooses:
Deuteronomy
30:19
19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that
I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore
choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;
Joshua
24:15
15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves
this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers
served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of
the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house,
we will serve the LORD."
Psalms
65:4
4 Blessed is the man You choose, And cause to approach You, That
he may dwell in Your courts. We shall be satisfied with the goodness
of Your house, Of Your holy temple.
Proverbs
1:22-33
22 'How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? For scorners
delight in their scorning, And fools hate knowledge.
23 Turn at my rebuke; Surely I will pour out my spirit on you;
I will make my words known to you.
24 Because I have called and you refused, I have stretched out
my hand and no one regarded,
25 Because you disdained all my counsel, And would have none of
my rebuke,
26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror
comes,
27 When your terror comes like a storm, And your destruction comes
like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you.
28 "Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They
will seek me diligently, but they will not find me.
29 Because they hated knowledge And did not choose the fear of
the LORD,
30 They would have none of my counsel And despised my every rebuke.
31 Therefore they shall eat the fruit of their own way, And be
filled to the full with their own fancies.
32 For the turning away of the simple will slay them, And the
complacency of fools will destroy them;
33 But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, And will be secure,
without fear of evil."
Proverbs
3:31-32
31 Do not envy the oppressor, And choose none of his ways;
32 For the perverse person is an abomination to the LORD, But
His secret counsel is with the upright.
Isaiah
65:12
12
when I called, you did not answer; When I spoke, you
did not hear, But did evil before My eyes, And chose that in which
I do not delight."
Isaiah
66:3-4
3 He who burns incense, as if he blesses an idol. Just as they
have chosen their own ways, And their soul delights in their abominations,
4 So will I choose their delusions, And bring their fears on them;
Because, when I called, no one answered, When I spoke they did
not hear; But they did evil before My eyes, And chose that in
which I do not delight."
Jeremiah
11:16-17
16 The LORD called your name, Green Olive Tree, Lovely and of
Good Fruit. With the noise of a great tumult He has kindled fire
on it, And its branches are broken.
17 "For the LORD of hosts, who planted you, has pronounced
doom against you for the evil of the house of Israel and of the
house of Judah, which they have done against themselves to provoke
Me to anger in offering incense to Baal."
John
15:13-17
13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life
for his friends.
14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.
15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know
what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all
things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.
16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that
you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain,
that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.
17 These things I command you, that you love one another.
God
grieves at our sin:
Isaiah
63:8-10
8 For He said, "Surely they are My people, Children who will
not lie." So He became their Savior.
9 In all their affliction He was afflicted And the Angel of His
Presence saved them; In His love and in His pity He redeemed them;
And He bore them and carried them All the days of old.
10 But they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit; So He turned
Himself against them as an enemy, And He fought against them.
Jeremiah
4:19-22
19 O my soul, my soul! I am pained in my very heart! My heart
makes a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, Because you have
heard, O my soul, The sound of the trumpet, The alarm of war.
20 Destruction upon destruction is cried, For the whole land is
plundered. Suddenly my tents are plundered, And my curtains in
a moment.
21 How long will I see the standard, And hear the sound of the
trumpet?
22 "For My people are foolish, They have not known Me. They
are silly children, And they have no understanding. They are wise
to do evil, But to do good they have no knowledge."
Jeremiah
8:18-22
18 I would comfort myself in sorrow; My heart is faint in me.
19 Listen! The voice, The cry of the daughter of my people From
a far country: "Is not the LORD in Zion? Is not her King
in her?" "Why have they provoked Me to anger With their
carved images - With foreign idols?"
20 "The harvest is past, The summer is ended, And we are
not saved!"
21 For the hurt of the daughter of my people I am hurt. I am mourning;
Astonishment has taken hold of me.
22 Is there no balm in Gilead, Is there no physician there? Why
then is there no recovery For the health of the daughter of my
people?
Jeremiah
13:16-17
16 Give glory to the LORD your God Before He causes darkness,
And before your feet stumble On the dark mountains, And while
you are looking for light, He turns it into the shadow of death
And makes it dense darkness.
17 But if you will not hear it, My soul will weep in secret for
your pride; My eyes will weep bitterly And run down with tears,
Because the LORD's flock has been taken captive.
Jeremiah
14:17-18
17 'Let my eyes flow with tears night and day, And let them not
cease; For the virgin daughter of my people Has been broken with
a mighty stroke, with a very severe blow.
18 If I go out to the field, Then behold, those slain with the
sword! And if I enter the city, Then behold, those sick from famine!
Yes, both prophet and priest go about in a land they do not know.'"
Habakkuk
1:13
13 You are of purer eyes than to behold evil,
And cannot look on wickedness.
Zechariah
8:17
17 Let none of you think evil in your heart against your neighbor;
And do not love a false oath.
For all these are things that I hate,'
Says the LORD."
Do
not add nor subtract from His Holy Word:
Deuteronomy
4:2
2 You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take
from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God
which I command you.
Matthew
5:17-19
17 "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets.
I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.
18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away,
one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till
all is fulfilled.
19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments,
and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven;
but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in
the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew
15:8-9
8 "These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor
Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.
9 And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments
of men.'"
Acts
4:18-19
18 So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all
nor teach in the name of Jesus.
19 But Peter and John answered and said to them, "Whether
it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to
God, you judge.
2
Timothy 3:16-17
16 All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching,
for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,
17 so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped
for every good work.
2
Peter 1:19-21
19 And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well
to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day
dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts;
20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any
private interpretation,
21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of
God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
Revelation
22:18-19
18 For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy
of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to
him the plagues that are written in this book;
19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this
prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life,
from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this
book.
Revelation
22:6-7
6 Then he said to me, "These words are faithful and true."
And the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show His
servants the things which must shortly take place.
7 "Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the
words of the prophecy of this book."
Death
is not the end:
Isaiah
66:2-5
2 For all those things My hand has made, And all those things
exist," Says the LORD. "But on this one will I look:
On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, And who trembles
at My word.
3 "He who kills a bull is as if he slays a man; He who sacrifices
a lamb, as if he breaks a dog's neck; He who offers a grain offering,
as if he offers swine's blood; He who burns incense, as if he
blesses an idol. Just as they have chosen their own ways, And
their soul delights in their abominations,
4 So will I choose their delusions, And bring their fears on them;
Because, when I called, no one answered, When I spoke they did
not hear; But they did evil before My eyes, And chose that in
which I do not delight."
5 The LORD Vindicates Zion Hear the word of the LORD, You who
tremble at His word:" Your brethren who hated you, Who cast
you out for My name's sake, said, 'Let the LORD be glorified,
That we may see your joy.' But they shall be ashamed."
Isaiah
66:24
24 "And they shall go forth and look Upon the corpses
of the men Who have transgressed against Me. For their worm does
not die, And their fire is not quenched. They shall be an abhorrence
to all flesh."
Daniel
12:2
2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake,
Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.
Israel,
given a heart to know me:
Jeremiah
24:5-7
5 "Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel: 'Like these good
figs, so will I acknowledge those who are carried away captive
from Judah, whom I have sent out of this place for their own good,
into the land of the Chaldeans.
6 For I will set My eyes on them for good, and I will bring them
back to this land; I will build them and not pull them down, and
I will plant them and not pluck them up.
7 Then I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the LORD;
and they shall be My people, and I will be their God, for they
shall return to Me with their whole heart.
Jeremiah
30:24
24 In the latter days you will consider it.
Jeremiah
31:1-4
1 "At the same time," says the LORD,"I will
be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be My
people."
2 Thus says the LORD: "The people who survived the sword
Found grace in the wilderness - Israel, when I went to give him
rest."
3 The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: "Yes, I have
loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness
I have drawn you.
4 Again I will build you, and you shall be rebuilt, O virgin of
Israel!
Israel
on hold for 2000 years
Ezekiel
39:21-29
21 "I will set My glory among the nations; all the nations
shall see My judgment which I have executed, and My hand which
I have laid on them.
22 So the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their
God from that day forward.
23 The Gentiles shall know that the house of Israel went into
captivity for their iniquity; because they were unfaithful to
Me, therefore I hid My face from them. I gave them into the hand
of their enemies, and they all fell by the sword.
24 According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions
I have dealt with them, and hidden My face from them."'
25 "Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: 'Now I will bring back
the captives of Jacob, and have mercy on the whole house of Israel;
and I will be jealous for My holy name -
26 after they have borne their shame, and all their unfaithfulness
in which they were unfaithful to Me, when they dwelt safely in
their own land and no one made them afraid.
27 When I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered
them out of their enemies' lands, and I am hallowed in them in
the sight of many nations,
28 then they shall know that I am the LORD their God, who sent
them into captivity among the nations, but also brought them back
to their land, and left none of them captive any longer.
29 And I will not hide My face from them anymore; for I shall
have poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel,' says the Lord
GOD."
Romans
11:7-36
7 Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained
it, and the rest were blinded.
8 Just as it is written: "God has given them a spirit of
stupor, Eyes that they should not see And ears that they should
not hear, To this very day."
9 And David says: " Let their table become a snare and a
trap, A stumbling block and a recompense to them.
10 Let their eyes be darkened, so that they do not see, And bow
down their back always."
11 I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly
not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation
has come to the Gentiles.
12 Now if their fall is riches for the world, and their failure
riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness!
13 For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to
the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry,
14 if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my
flesh and save some of them.
15 For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world,
what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?
16 For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches.
17 And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being
a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became
a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree,
18 do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember
that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.
19 You will say then, "Branches were broken off that I might
be grafted in."
20 Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you
stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear.
21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare
you either.
22 Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those
who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue
in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.
23 And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be
grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.
24 For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by
nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated
olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches,
be grafted into their own olive tree?
25 For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant
of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion,
that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness
of the Gentiles has come in.
26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: "The
Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness
from Jacob;
27 For this is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins."
28 Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning
the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers.
29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
30 For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained
mercy through their disobedience,
31 even so these also have now been disobedient, that through
the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy.
32 For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might
have mercy on all.
33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge
of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding
out!
34 "For who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has become
His counselor?"
35 "Or who has first given to Him And it shall be repaid
to him?"
36 For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom
be glory forever. Amen.
Acts
28:25-28
25 "The Holy Spirit spoke rightly through Isaiah the prophet
to our fathers,
26 saying, 'Go to this people and say: 'Hearing you will hear,
and shall not understand; And seeing you will see, and not perceive;
27 For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are
hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should
see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should
understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them."'
28 "Therefore let it be known to you that the salvation of
God has been sent to the Gentiles, and they will hear it!"
The
remnant of Israel:
Isaiah
6:10-13
10 "Make the heart of this people dull, And their ears heavy,
And shut their eyes; Lest they see with their eyes, And hear with
their ears, And understand with their heart, And return and be
healed."
11 Then I said, "Lord, how long?" And He answered: "Until
the cities are laid waste and without inhabitant, The houses are
without a man, The land is utterly desolate,
12 The LORD has removed men far away, And the forsaken places
are many in the midst of the land.
13 But yet a tenth will be in it, And will return and be for consuming,
As a terebinth tree or as an oak, Whose stump remains when it
is cut down. So the holy seed shall be its stump."
Isaiah
65:8-10
8 "As the new wine is found in the cluster, And one says,
'Do not destroy it, For a blessing is in it,' So will I do for
My servants' sake, That I may not destroy them all.
9 I will bring forth descendants from Jacob, And from Judah an
heir of My mountains; My elect shall inherit it, And My servants
shall dwell there.
10 Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, And the Valley of Achor a
place for herds to lie down, For My people who have sought Me.
Zechariah
8:11-15
11 But now I will not treat the remnant of this people as
in the former days,' says the LORD of hosts.
12 'For the seed shall be prosperous, The vine shall give its
fruit, The ground shall give her increase,And the heavens shall
give their dew - I will cause the remnant of this people To possess
all these.
13 And it shall come to pass That just as you were a curse among
the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, So I will save
you, and you shall be a blessing. Do not fear, Let your hands
be strong.'
14 "For thus says the LORD of hosts: 'Just as I determined
to punish you
When your fathers provoked Me to wrath,' Says the LORD of hosts,
'And I would not relent,
15 So again in these days I am determined to do good To Jerusalem
and to the house of Judah.
Zechariah
14:1-2
1 Behold, the day of the LORD is coming, And your spoil will be
divided in your midst.
2 For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem;
The city shall be taken, The houses rifled, And the women ravished.
Half of the city shall go into captivity, But the remnant of the
people shall not be cut off from the city.
Jeremiah
23:1-8
1 The Branch of Righteousness "Woe to the shepherds who destroy
and scatter the sheep of My pasture!" says the LORD.
2 Therefore thus says the LORD God of Israel against the shepherds
who feed My people: "You have scattered My flock, driven
them away, and not attended to them. Behold, I will attend to
you for the evil of your doings," says the LORD.
3 "But I will gather the remnant of My flock out of all countries
where I have driven them, and bring them back to their folds;
and they shall be fruitful and increase.
4 I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them; and they
shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, nor shall they be lacking,"
says the LORD.
5 "Behold, the days are coming," says the LORD, "That
I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall
reign and prosper, And execute judgment and righteousness in the
earth.
6 In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell safely;
Now this is His name by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR
RIGHTEOUSNESS.
7 "Therefore, behold, the days are coming," says the
LORD, "that they shall no longer say, 'As the LORD lives
who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt,'
8 but, 'As the LORD lives who brought up and led the descendants
of the house of Israel from the north country and from all the
countries where I had driven them.' And they shall dwell in their
own land."
Zechariah
13:7-9
7 "Awake, O sword, against My Shepherd, Against the Man who
is My Companion," Says the LORD of hosts. "Strike the
Shepherd, And the sheep will be scattered; Then I will turn My
hand against the little ones.
8 And it shall come to pass in all the land," Says the LORD,
"That two-thirds in it shall be cut off and die, But one-third
shall be left in it:
9 I will bring the one-third through the fire, Will refine them
as silver is refined, And test them as gold is tested. They will
call on My name, And I will answer them. I will say, 'This is
My people'; And each one will say, 'The LORD is my God.'"
Matthew
13:14-15
14 'Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing
you will see and not perceive;
15 For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are
hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should
see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should
understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.'
Luke
13:24-30
24 "Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I
say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able.
25 When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the
door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying,
'Lord, Lord, open for us,' and He will answer and say to you,'I
do not know you, where you are from,'
26 then you will begin to say, 'We ate and drank in Your presence,
and You taught in our streets.'
27 But He will say, 'I tell you I do not know you, where you are
from. Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.'
28 There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham
and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God,
and yourselves thrust out.
29 They will come from the east and the west, from the north and
the south, and sit down in the kingdom of God.
30 And indeed there are last who will be first, and there are
first who will be last."
Romans
9:25-29
25 As He says also in Hosea: "I will call them My people,
who were not My people, And her beloved, who was not beloved."
26 "And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said
to them,' You are not My people,' There they shall be called sons
of the living God."
27 Isaiah also cries out concerning Israel: "Though the number
of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, The remnant
will be saved.
28 For He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness,
Because the LORD will make a short work upon the earth."
29 And as Isaiah said before: "Unless the LORD of Sabaoth
had left us a seed, We would have become like Sodom, And we would
have been made like Gomorrah."
Peace,
when there is no peace:
Jeremiah
4:10
10 Then I said, "Ah, Lord GOD! Surely You have greatly deceived
this people and Jerusalem, Saying, 'You shall have peace,' Whereas
the sword reaches to the heart."
Jeremiah
6:14
14 They have also healed the hurt of My people slightly, Saying,
'Peace, peace! 'When there is no peace.
Jeremiah
8:10-12
10 Everyone is given to covetousness; From the prophet even to
the priest Everyone deals falsely.
11 For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of My people
slightly. Saying, Peace, peace!' When there is no peace.
12 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No!
They were not at all ashamed, Nor did they know how to blush.
Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; In the time of
their punishment They shall be cast down," says the LORD.
The
battle of Armageddon
Isaiah
24:1-10
1 Behold, the LORD makes the earth empty and makes
it waste, Distorts its surface And scatters abroad its inhabitants.
2 And it shall be: As with the people, so with the priest; As
with the servant, so with his master; As with the maid, so with
her mistress; As with the buyer, so with the seller; As with the
lender, so with the borrower; As with the creditor, so with the
debtor.
3 The land shall be entirely emptied and utterly plundered, For
the LORD has spoken this word.
4 The earth mourns and fades away, The world languishes and fades
away; The haughty people of the earth languish.
5 The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants, Because they
have transgressed the laws, Changed the ordinance, Broken the
everlasting covenant.
6 Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, And those who dwell
in it are desolate. Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are
burned, And few men are left.
7 The new wine fails, the vine languishes, All the merry-hearted
sigh.
8 The mirth of the tambourine ceases, The noise of the jubilant
ends, The joy of the harp ceases.
9 They shall not drink wine with a song; Strong drink is bitter
to those who drink it.
10 The city of confusion is broken down; Every house is shut up,
so that none may go in.
Jeremiah
4:9-29
9 "And it shall come to pass in that day," says the
LORD, "That the heart of the king shall perish, And the heart
of the princes; The priests shall be astonished, And the prophets
shall wonder."
10 Then I said, "Ah, Lord GOD! Surely You have greatly deceived
this people and Jerusalem, Saying, 'You shall have peace, 'Whereas
the sword reaches to the heart."
11 At that time it will be said To this people and to Jerusalem,
"A dry wind of the desolate heights blows in the wilderness
Toward the daughter of My people - Not to fan or to cleanse -
12 A wind too strong for these will come for Me; Now I will also
speak judgment against them."
13 "Behold, he shall come up like clouds, And his chariots
like a whirlwind. His horses are swifter than eagles. Woe to us,
for we are plundered!"
14 O Jerusalem, wash your heart from wickedness, That you may
be saved. How long shall your evil thoughts lodge within you?
15 For a voice declares from Dan And proclaims affliction from
Mount Ephraim:
16 "Make mention to the nations, Yes, proclaim against Jerusalem,
That watchers come from a far country And raise their voice against
the cities of Judah.
17 Like keepers of a field they are against her all around, Because
she has been rebellious against Me," says the LORD.
18 "Your ways and your doings Have procured these things
for you. This is your wickedness, Because it is bitter, Because
it reaches to your heart."
23 I beheld the earth, and indeed it was without form, and void;
And the heavens, they had no light.
24 I beheld the mountains, and indeed they trembled, And all the
hills moved back and forth.
25 I beheld, and indeed there was no man, And all the birds of
the heavens had fled.
26 I beheld, and indeed the fruitful land was a wilderness, And
all its cities were broken down At the presence of the LORD, By
His fierce anger.
27 For thus says the LORD: "The whole land shall be desolate;
Yet I will not make a full end.
28 For this shall the earth mourn, And the heavens above be black,
Because I have spoken. I have purposed and will not relent, Nor
will I turn back from it.
29 The whole city shall flee from the noise of the horsemen and
bowmen. They shall go into thickets and climb up on the rocks.
Every city shall be forsaken, And not a man shall dwell in it.
Zephaniah
1:2-18
2 "I will utterly consume everything From the face of the
land, "Says the LORD;
3 'I will consume man and beast; I will consume the birds of the
heavens, The fish of the sea, And the stumbling blocks along with
the wicked. I will cut off man from the face of the land, "Says
the LORD.
4 "I will stretch out My hand against Judah, And against
all the inhabitants of Jerusalem. I will cut off every trace of
Baal from this place, The names of the idolatrous priests with
the pagan priests -
5 Those who worship the host of heaven on the housetops; Those
who worship and swear oaths by the LORD, But who also swear by
Milcom;
6 Those who have turned back from following the LORD, And have
not sought the LORD, nor inquired of Him."
7 Be silent in the presence of the Lord GOD; For the day of the
LORD is at hand, For the LORD has prepared a sacrifice; He has
invited His guests.
8 "And it shall be, In the day of the LORD's sacrifice, That
I will punish the princes and the king's children, And all such
as are clothed with foreign apparel.
9 In the same day I will punish All those who leap over the threshold,
Who fill their masters' houses with violence and deceit.
10 "And there shall be on that day," says the LORD,
"The sound of a mournful cry from the Fish Gate, A wailing
from the Second Quarter, And a loud crashing from the hills.
11 Wail, you inhabitants of Maktesh! For all the merchant people
are cut down; All those who handle money are cut off.
12 "And it shall come to pass at that time That I will search
Jerusalem with lamps, And punish the men Who are settled in complacency,
Who say in their heart, 'The LORD will not do good, Nor will He
do evil.'
13 Therefore their goods shall become booty, And their houses
a desolation; They shall build houses, but not inhabit them; They
shall plant vineyards, but not drink their wine."
14 The great day of the LORD is near; It is near and hastens quickly.
The noise of the day of the LORD is bitter; There the mighty men
shall cry out.
15 That day is a day of wrath, A day of trouble and distress,
A day of devastation and desolation, A day of darkness and gloominess,
A day of clouds and thick darkness,
16 A day of trumpet and alarm Against the fortified cities And
against the high towers.
17 "I will bring distress upon men, And they shall walk like
blind men, Because they have sinned against the LORD; Their blood
shall be poured out like dust, And their flesh like refuse."
18 Neither their silver nor their gold Shall be able to deliver
them In the day of the LORD's wrath; But the whole land shall
be devoured By the fire of His jealousy, For He will make speedy
riddance Of all those who dwell in the land.
Zechariah
2:6-13
6 "Up, up! Flee from the land of the north," says the
LORD; "for I have spread you abroad like the four winds of
heaven," says the LORD.
7 "Up, Zion! Escape, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon."
8 For thus says the LORD of hosts: "He sent Me after glory,
to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches
the apple of His eye.
9 For surely I will shake My hand against them, and they shall
become spoil for their servants. Then you will know that the LORD
of hosts has sent Me.
10 "Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For behold, I am
coming and I will dwell in your midst," says the LORD.
11 "Many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day,
and they shall become My people. And I will dwell in your midst.
Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent Me to you.
12 And the LORD will take possession of Judah as His inheritance
in the Holy Land, and will again choose Jerusalem.
13 Be silent, all flesh, before the LORD, for He is aroused from
His holy habitation!"
Zechariah
14:12-13
12 And this shall be the plague with which the LORD will strike
all the people who fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh shall
dissolve while they stand on their feet, Their eyes shall dissolve
in their sockets, And their tongues shall dissolve in their mouths.
13 It shall come to pass in that day That a great panic from the
LORD will be among them.
Matthew
4:1
1 "For behold, the day is coming, Burning like an oven, And
all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the
day which is coming shall burn them up," Says the LORD of
hosts, "That will leave them neither root nor branch.
Matthew
3:12
12 His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean
out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but
He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."
Matthew
24:9-14
9 "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill
you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake.
10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and
will hate one another.
11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.
12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will
grow cold.
13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the
world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
2
Peter 3:4-13
4 "Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers
fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning
of creation."
5 For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the
heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in
the water,
6 by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded
with water.
7 But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the
same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and
perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord
one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count
slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any
should perish but that all should come to repentance.
10 The Day of the Lord But the day of the Lord will come as a
thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a
great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both
the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner
of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,
12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because
of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the
elements will melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens
and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
Revelation
1:7-8
7 Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him,
even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will
mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.
8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,"
says the Lord, "who is and who was and who is to come, the
Almighty."
Revelation
1:16-19
16 He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went
a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun
shining in its strength.
17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid
His right hand on me, saying to me, "Do not be afraid; I
am the First and the Last.
18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore.
Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.
19 Write the things which you have seen, and the things which
are, and the things which will take place after this.
Revelation
6:12-17
12 I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was
a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair,
and the moon became like blood.
13 And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops
its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind.
14 Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and
every mountain and island was moved out of its place.
15 And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the
commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid
themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains,
16 and said to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us and hide
us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath
of the Lamb!
17 For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to
stand?"
Revelation
8:1-13
1 When He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven
for about half an hour.
2 And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them
were given seven trumpets.
3 Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at
the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it
with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which
was before the throne.
4 And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints,
ascended before God from the angel's hand.
5 Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the
altar, and threw it to the earth. And there were noises, thunderings,
lightnings, and an earthquake.
6 So the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves
to sound.
7 The first angel sounded: And hail and fire followed, mingled
with blood, and they were thrown to the earth. And a third of
the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up.
8 Then the second angel sounded: And something like a great mountain
burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the
sea became blood.
9 And a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third
of the ships were destroyed.
10 Then the third angel sounded: And a great star fell from heaven,
burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and
on the springs of water.
11 The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became
wormwood, and many men died from the water, because it was made
bitter.
12 Then the fourth angel sounded: And a third of the sun was struck,
a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third
of them were darkened. A third of the day did not shine, and likewise
the night.
13 And I looked, and I heard an angel flying through the midst
of heaven, saying with a loud voice,"Woe, woe, woe to the
inhabitants of the earth, because of the remaining blasts of the
trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound!"
Revelation
9:1-21
1 Then the fifth angel sounded: And I saw a star fallen from heaven
to the earth. To him was given the key to the bottomless pit.
2 And he opened the bottomless pit, and smoke arose out of the
pit like the smoke of a great furnace. So the sun and the air
were darkened because of the smoke of the pit.
3 Then out of the smoke locusts came upon the earth. And to them
was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
4 They were commanded not to harm the grass of the earth, or any
green thing, or any tree, but only those men who do not have the
seal of God on their foreheads.
5 And they were not given authority to kill them, but to torment
them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a
scorpion when it strikes a man.
6 In those days men will seek death and will not find it; they
will desire to die, and death will flee from them.
7 The shape of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle.
On their heads were crowns of something like gold, and their faces
were like the faces of men.
8 They had hair like women's hair, and their teeth were like lions'
teeth.
9 And they had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the
sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots with many
horses running into battle.
10 They had tails like scorpions, and there were stings in their
tails. Their power was to hurt men five months.
11 And they had as king over them the angel of the bottomless
pit, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, but in Greek he has the
name Apollyon.
12 One woe is past. Behold, still two more woes are coming after
these things.
13 Sixth Trumpet: Then the sixth angel sounded: And I heard a
voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before
God,
14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, "Release
the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates."
15 So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and
day and month and year, were released to kill a third of mankind.
16 Now the number of the army of the horsemen was two hundred
million; I heard the number of them.
17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision: those who sat on them
had breastplates of fiery red, hyacinth blue, and sulfur yellow;
and the heads of the horses were like the heads of lions; and
out of their mouths came fire, smoke, and brimstone.
18 By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed - by the
fire and the smoke and the brimstone which came out of their mouths.
19 For their power is in their mouth and in their tails; for their
tails are like serpents, having heads; and with them they do harm.
20 But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues,
did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not
worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood,
which can neither see nor hear nor walk.
21 And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries
or their sexual immorality or their thefts.
Revelation
11:17-19
17 "We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who
is and who was and who is to come, Because You have taken Your
great power and reigned.
18 The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, And the time
of the dead, that they should be judged, And that You should reward
Your servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear
Your name, small and great, And should destroy those who destroy
the earth."
19 Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of
His covenant was seen in His temple. And there were lightnings,
noises, thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail.
Revelation
14:19-20
19 So the angel thrust his sickle into the earth and gathered
the vine of the earth, and threw it into the great winepress of
the wrath of God.
20 And the winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood
came out of the winepress, up to the horses' bridles, for one
thousand six hundred furlongs.
Revelation
16:11-21
11 They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and
their sores, and did not repent of their deeds.
12 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river
Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the
kings from the east might be prepared.
13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the
mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of
the mouth of the false prophet.
14 For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go
out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather
them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
15 "Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches,
and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame."
16 And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew,
Armageddon.
17 Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and
a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne,
saying,"It is done!"
18 And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there
was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as
had not occurred since men were on the earth.
19 Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities
of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God,
to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.
20 Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.
21 And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about
the weight of a talent. Men blasphemed God because of the plague
of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great.
Revelation
17:1-18
1 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and
talked with me, saying to me, "Come, I will show you the
judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters,
2 with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and
the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of
her fornication."
3 So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And
I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names
of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with
gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden
cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication.
5 And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE
GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
6 I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with
the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled
with great amazement.
7 But the angel said to me, "Why did you marvel? I will tell
you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her,
which has the seven heads and the ten horns.
8 The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out
of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell
on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book
of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast
that was, and is not, and yet is.
9 "Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are
seven mountains on which the woman sits.
10 There are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the
other has not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a
short time.
11 The beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth,
and is of the seven, and is going to perdition.
12 "The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received
no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as
kings with the beast.
13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority
to the beast.
14 These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome
them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who
are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful."
15 Then he said to me,"The waters which you saw, where the
harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues.
16 And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate
the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn
her with fire.
17 For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose,
to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until
the words of God are fulfilled.
18 And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns
over the kings of the earth."
Revelation
18:1-24
1 After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven,
having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his
glory.
2 And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying,"Babylon
the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place
of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every
unclean and hated bird!
3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her
fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication
with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through
the abundance of her luxury."
4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying,"Come out
of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive
of her plagues.
5 For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered
her iniquities.
6 Render to her just as she rendered to you, and repay her double
according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix double
for her.
7 In the measure that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously,
in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says
in her heart, 'I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see
sorrow.'
8 Therefore her plagues will come in one day - death and mourning
and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong
is the Lord God who judges her.
9 "The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived
luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see
the smoke of her burning,
10 standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying,'Alas,
alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour
your judgment has come.'
11 "And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over
her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore:
12 merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls,
fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron
wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most
precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble;
13 and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine
and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots,
and bodies and souls of men.
14 The fruit that your soul longed for has gone from you, and
all the things which are rich and splendid have gone from you,
and you shall find them no more at all.
15 The merchants of these things, who became rich by her, will
stand at a distance for fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,
16 and saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city that was clothed in
fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious
stones and pearls!
17 For in one hour such great riches came to nothing.' Every shipmaster,
all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on the sea,
stood at a distance
18 and cried out when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying,'What
is like this great city?'
19 "They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping
and wailing, and saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city, in which
all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! For in
one hour she is made desolate.'
20 "Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you holy apostles and
prophets, for God has avenged you on her!"
21 Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone
and threw it into the sea, saying,"Thus with violence the
great city Babylon shall be thrown down, and shall not be found
anymore.
22 The sound of harpists, musicians, flutists, and trumpeters
shall not be heard in you anymore. No craftsman of any craft shall
be found in you anymore, and the sound of a millstone shall not
be heard in you anymore.
23 The light of a lamp shall not shine in you anymore, and the
voice of bridegroom and bride shall not be heard in you anymore.
For your merchants were the great men of the earth, for by your
sorcery all the nations were deceived.
24 And in her was found the blood of prophets and saints, and
of all who were slain on the earth."
The bones of Israel's people will be resurrected:
Ezekiel
37:1-14
1. The hand of the LORD came upon me and brought me out in the
Spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley;
and it was full of bones.
2 Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there
were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry.
3 And He said to me, "Son of man, can these bones live?"
So I answered, "O Lord GOD, You know."
4 Again He said to me, "Prophesy to these bones, and say
to them, 'O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD!
5 Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: "Surely I will cause
breath to enter into you, and you shall live.
6 I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you
with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you
shall know that I am the LORD."'"
7 So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there
was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together,
bone to bone.
8 Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them,
and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them.
9 Also He said to me, "Prophesy to the breath, prophesy,
son of man, and say to the breath, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: "Come
from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that
they may live."'"
10 So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them,
and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great
army.
11 Then He said to me, "Son of man, these bones are the whole
house of Israel. They indeed say, 'Our bones are dry, our hope
is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!'
12 Therefore prophesy and say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD:
"Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you
to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
13 Then you shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened
your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves.
14 I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will
place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the LORD,
have spoken it and performed it," says the LORD.'"
Isaiah
66:13-14
13 As one whom his mother comforts, So I will comfort you; And
you shall be comforted in Jerusalem."
14 When you see this, your heart shall rejoice, And your bones
shall flourish like grass;
Psalms
104:29-30
29 You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust.
30 You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; And You renew
the face of the earth.
Joel
3:1-2
1 "For behold, in those days and at that time, When I bring
back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem,
2 I will also gather all nations, And bring them down to the Valley
of Jehoshaphat;
And I will enter into judgment with them there
Daniel
12:1-3
1 at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is
found written in the book.
2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake,
Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.
3 Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament,
And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever
and ever.
Zephaniah
3:9-13
9 "For then I will restore to the peoples a pure language,
That they all may call on the name of the LORD, To serve Him with
one accord.
10 From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia My worshipers, The daughter
of My dispersed ones, Shall bring My offering.
11 In that day you shall not be shamed for any of your deeds In
which you transgress against Me; For then I will take away from
your midst Those who rejoice in your pride, And you shall no longer
be haughty In My holy mountain.
12 I will leave in your midst A meek and humble people, And they
shall trust in the name of the LORD.
13 The remnant of Israel shall do no unrighteousness And speak
no lies, Nor shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth;
For they shall feed their flocks and lie down, And no one shall
make them afraid."
Zephaniah
3:19-20
19 Behold, at that time I will deal with all who afflict you;
I will save the lame, And gather those who were driven out; I
will appoint them for praise and fame In every land where they
were put to shame.
20 At that time I will bring you back, Even at the time I gather
you; For I will give you fame and praise Among all the peoples
of the earth When I return your captives before your eyes, "Says
the LORD.
Zechariah 1:16-17
16 'Therefore thus says the LORD: "I am returning to Jerusalem
with mercy; My house shall be built in it," says the LORD
of hosts, "And a surveyor's line shall be stretched out over
Jerusalem."'
17 "Again proclaim, saying, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts:
"My cities shall again spread out through prosperity; The
LORD will again comfort Zion, And will again choose Jerusalem."'"
Zechariah 8:3-5
3 "Thus says the LORD: 'I will return to Zion, And dwell
in the midst of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be called the City
of Truth, The Mountain of the LORD of hosts, The Holy Mountain.'
4 "Thus says the LORD of hosts: 'Old men and old women shall
again sit In the streets of Jerusalem, Each one with his staff
in his hand Because of great age.
5 The streets of the city Shall be full of boys and girls Playing
in its streets.'
Zechariah 12:1-14
1 The burden of the word of the LORD against Israel. Thus says
the LORD, who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of
the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him:
2 "Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to
all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah
and Jerusalem.
3 And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a
very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away
will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth
are gathered against it.
4 In that day," says the LORD, "I will strike every
horse with confusion, and its rider with madness; I will open
My eyes on the house of Judah, and will strike every horse of
the peoples with blindness.
5 And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, 'The inhabitants
of Jerusalem are my strength in the LORD of hosts, their God.'
6 In that day I will make the governors of Judah like a firepan
in the woodpile, and like a fiery torch in the sheaves; they shall
devour all the surrounding peoples on the right hand and on the
left, but Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place
- Jerusalem.
7 "The LORD will save the tents of Judah first, so that the
glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of
Jerusalem shall not become greater than that of Judah.
8 In that day the LORD will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem;
the one who is feeble among them in that day shall be like David,
and the house of David shall be like God, like the Angel of the
LORD before them.
9 It shall be in that day that I will seek to destroy all the
nations that come against Jerusalem.
10 "And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants
of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will
look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as
one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves
for a firstborn.
11 In that day there shall be a great mourning in Jerusalem, like
the mourning at Hadad Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo.
12 And the land shall mourn, every family by itself: the family
of the house of David by itself, and their wives by themselves;
the family of the house of Nathan by itself, and their wives by
themselves;
13 the family of the house of Levi by itself, and their wives
by themselves; the family of Shimei by itself, and their wives
by themselves;
14 all the families that remain, every family by itself, and their
wives by themselves.
Zechariah 13:1-2
1 "In that day a fountain shall be opened for the house of
David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness.
2 "It shall be in that day," says the LORD of hosts,
"that I will cut off the names of the idols from the land,
and they shall no longer be remembered. I will also cause the
prophets and the unclean spirit to depart from the land
Zechariah 14:5-6
5 Then you shall flee through My mountain valley, For the mountain
valley shall reach to Azal. Yes, you shall flee As you fled from
the earthquake In the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Thus the LORD
my God will come, And all the saints with You.
6 It shall come to pass in that day That there will be no light;
The lights will diminish.
Zechariah 14:9-11
9 And the LORD shall be King over all the earth. In that day it
shall be - "The LORD is one," And His name one.
10 All the land shall be turned into a plain from Geba to Rimmon
south of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be raised up and inhabited
in her place from Benjamin's Gate to the place of the First Gate
and the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the king's
winepresses.
11 The people shall dwell in it; And no longer shall there be
utter destruction, But Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.
Zechariah 14:20-21
20 In that day "HOLINESS TO THE LORD" shall be engraved
on the bells of the horses. The pots in the LORD's house shall
be like the bowls before the altar.
21 Yes, every pot in Jerusalem and Judah shall be holiness to
the LORD of hosts. Everyone who sacrifices shall come and take
them and cook in them. In that day there shall no longer be a
Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.

Revelation
20:1-10
1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the
key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the
Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years;
3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and
set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more
till the thousand years were finished. But after these things
he must be released for a little while.
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed
to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for
their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped
the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their
foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ
for a thousand years.
5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand
years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection.
Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests
of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.
7 Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released
from his prison
8 and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four
corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to
battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea.
9 They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the
camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from
God out of heaven and devoured them.
10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire
and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they
will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

9:6-7
6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the
government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of
Peace.
7 Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no
end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it
and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward,
even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Ezekiel
43:10-12
10 "Son of man, describe the temple to the house of Israel,
that they may be ashamed of their iniquities; and let them measure
the pattern.
11 And if they are ashamed of all that they have done, make known
to them the design of the temple and its arrangement, its exits
and its entrances, its entire design and all its ordinances, all
its forms and all its laws. Write it down in their sight, so that
they may keep its whole design and all its ordinances, and perform
them.
12 This is the law of the temple: The whole area surrounding the
mountaintop is most holy. Behold, this is the law of the temple.
Zechariah

9:11-15
11 "On that day I will raise up The tabernacle of David,
which has fallen down, And repair its damages; I will raise up
its ruins, And rebuild it as in the days of old;
12 That they may possess the remnant of Edom, And all the Gentiles
who are called by My name," Says the LORD who does this thing.
13 "Behold, the days are coming," says the LORD, "When
the plowman shall overtake the reaper,
And the treader of grapes him who sows seed; The mountains shall
drip with sweet wine, And all the hills shall flow with it.
14 I will bring back the captives of My people Israel; They shall
build the waste cities and inhabit them; They shall plant vineyards
and drink wine from them; They shall also make gardens and eat
fruit from them.
15 I will plant them in their land, And no longer shall they be
pulled up From the land I have given them," Says the LORD
your God.

16:39-40
39 So Eleazar the priest took the bronze censers, which those
who were burned up had presented, and they were hammered out as
a covering on the altar,
40 to be a memorial to the children of Israel that no outsider,
who is not a descendant of Aaron, should come near to offer incense

Ezekiel
44:4-9
4 Also He brought me by way of the north gate to the front of
the temple; so I looked, and behold, the glory of the LORD filled
the house of the LORD; and I fell on my face.
5 And the LORD said to me,"Son of man, mark well, see with
your eyes and hear with your ears, all that I say to you concerning
all the ordinances of the house of the LORD and all its laws.
Mark well who may enter the house and all who go out from the
sanctuary.
6 "Now say to the rebellious, to the house of Israel, 'Thus
says the Lord GOD: "O house of Israel, let Us have no more
of all your abominations.
7 When you brought in foreigners, uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised
in flesh, to be in My sanctuary to defile it - My house - and
when you offered My food, the fat and the blood, then they broke
My covenant because of all your abominations.
8 And you have not kept charge of My holy things, but you have
set others to keep charge of My sanctuary for you."
9 Thus says the Lord GOD: "No foreigner, uncircumcised in
heart or uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter My sanctuary, including
any foreigner who is among the children of Israel.

Isaiah
14:1-2
1 For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will still choose
Israel, and settle them in their own land. The strangers will
be joined with them, and they will cling to the house of Jacob.
2 Then people will take them and bring them to their place, and
the house of Israel will possess them for servants and maids in
the land of the LORD; they will take them captive whose captives
they were, and rule over their oppressors.
Isaiah

19 In that day there will be an altar to the LORD in the midst
of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the LORD at its border.
20 And it will be for a sign and for a witness to the LORD of
hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the LORD because
of the oppressors, and He will send them a Savior and a Mighty
One, and He will deliver them.
21 Then the LORD will be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will
know the LORD in that day, and will make sacrifice and offering;
yes, they will make a vow to the LORD and perform it.

2:8-13
12 And the LORD will take possession of Judah as His inheritance

of hosts. I myself will go also."
22 Yes, many peoples and strong nations Shall come to seek the
LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, And to pray before the LORD.'

every language of the nations shall grasp the sleeve of a Jewish
man, saying, "Let us go with you, for we have heard that
God is with you."'"

5 Ashkelon shall see it and fear; Gaza also shall be very sorrowful;
And Ekron, for He dried up her expectation. The king shall perish

6 "A mixed race shall settle in Ashdod, And I will cut off

3:9-11
9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man

The
Antichrist:
Daniel
8:11-14
11 He even exalted himself as high as the Prince of the host;
and by him the daily sacrifices were taken away, and the place
of His sanctuary was cast down.
12 Because of transgression, an army was given over to the horn
to oppose the daily sacrifices; and he cast truth down to the
ground. He did all this and prospered.
13 Then I heard a holy one speaking; and another holy one said
to that certain one who was speaking, "How long will the
vision be, concerning the daily sacrifices and the transgression
of desolation, the giving of both the sanctuary and the host to
be trampled underfoot?"
14 And he said to me, "For two thousand three hundred days;
then the sanctuary shall be cleansed."
Daniel
8:23-25
23 "And in the latter time of their kingdom, When the transgressors
have reached their fullness, A king shall arise, Having fierce
features, Who understands sinister schemes.
24 His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; He shall
destroy fearfully, And shall prosper and thrive; He shall destroy
the mighty, and also the holy people.
25 "Through his cunning He shall cause deceit to prosper
under his rule; And he shall exalt himself in his heart. He shall
destroy many in their prosperity. He shall even rise against the
Prince of princes; But he shall be broken without human means.
Daniel
11:29-39
29 "At the appointed time he shall return and go toward the
south; but it shall not be like the former or the latter.
30 For ships from Cyprus shall come against him; therefore he
shall be grieved, and return in rage against the holy covenant,
and do damage. "So he shall return and show regard for those
who forsake the holy covenant.
31 And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile
the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices,
and place there the abomination of desolation.
32 Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt
with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong,
and carry out great exploits.
33 And those of the people who understand shall instruct many;
yet for many days they shall fall by sword and flame, by captivity
and plundering.
34 Now when they fall, they shall be aided with a little help;
but many shall join with them by intrigue.
35 And some of those of understanding shall fall, to refine them,
purify them, and make them white, until the time of the end; because
it is still for the appointed time.
36 "Then the king shall do according to his own will: he
shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies
against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has
been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done.
37 He shall regard neither the God of his fathers nor the desire
of women, nor regard any god; for he shall exalt himself above
them all.
38 But in their place he shall honor a god of fortresses; and
a god which his fathers did not know he shall honor with gold
and silver, with precious stones and pleasant things.
39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign
god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he
shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain.
Daniel
11:40-45
40 "At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack
him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind,
with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter
the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through.
41 He shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall
be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab,
and the prominent people of Ammon.
42 He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the
land of Egypt shall not escape.
43 He shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver,
and over all the precious things of Egypt; also the Libyans and
Ethiopians shall follow at his heels.
44 But news from the east and the north shall trouble him; therefore
he shall go out with great fury to destroy and annihilate many.
45 And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas
and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end,
and no one will help him.
Daniel
12:1-4
1 Prophecy of the End Time "At that time Michael shall stand
up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people;
And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since
there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people
shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book.
2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake,
Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.
3 Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament,
And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever
and ever.
4 "But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book
until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge
shall increase."
Zechariah
11:17
17 "Woe to the worthless shepherd, Who leaves the flock!
A sword shall be against his arm And against his right eye; His
arm shall completely wither, And his right eye shall be totally
blinded."
Matthew
5:27-30
27 "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You
shall not commit adultery.'
28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for
her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
29 If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast
it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your
members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast
it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your
members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
Revelation
12:3-12
3 And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery
red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems
on his heads.
4 His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them
to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready
to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born.
5 She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod
of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne.
6 Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place
prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand
two hundred and sixty days.
7 And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with
the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought,
8 but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in
heaven any longer.
9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called
the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast
to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation,
and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His
Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused
them before our God day and night, has been cast down.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word
of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe
to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has
come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he
has a short time."
Revelation
13:1-10
1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising
up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his
horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name.
2 Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were
like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion.
The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority.
3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded,
and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and
followed the beast.
4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast;
and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast?
Who is able to make war with him?"
5 And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies,
and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months.
6 Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme
His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven.
7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome
them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and
nation.
8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have
not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the
foundation of the world.
9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear.
10 He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who
kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the
patience and the faith of the saints.
Revelation
19:17-21
17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with
a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of
heaven, "Come and gather together for the supper of the great
God,
18 that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains,
the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who
sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both
small and great."
19 And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies,
gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse
and against His army.
20 Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet
who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who
received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image.
These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.
21 And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from
the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were
filled with their flesh.
The
Tribulation
Daniel
9:27
27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But
in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and
offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes
desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is
poured out on the desolate."
Daniel
12:11-12
11 "And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away,
and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one
thousand two hundred and ninety days.
12 Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three
hundred and thirty-five days.
Revelation
12:1-6
1 Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the
sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of
twelve stars.
2 Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to
give birth.
The
mark of the beast:
Revelation
13:11-18
11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he
had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon.
12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his
presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship
the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down
from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.
14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs
which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling
those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who
was wounded by the sword and lived.
15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast,
that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many
as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.
16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and
slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads,
17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark
or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the
number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number
is 666.
Revelation
14:9-12
9 Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice,
"If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives
his mark on his forehead or on his hand,
10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God,
which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation.
He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence
of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.
11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and
they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his
image, and whoever receives the mark of his name."
12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep
the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.
Revelation
16:2
2 So the first went and poured out his bowl upon the earth, and
a foul and loathsome sore came upon the men who had the mark of
the beast and those who worshiped his image.
The
Temple desecrated:
Daniel 11:29-31
29 "At the appointed time he shall return and go toward the
south; but it shall not be like the former or the latter.
30 For ships from Cyprus shall come against him; therefore he
shall be grieved, and return in rage against the holy covenant,
and do damage. "So he shall return and show regard for those
who forsake the holy covenant.
31 And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile
the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices,
and place there the abomination of desolation.
Daniel
12:7
7 Then I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters
of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand
to heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever, that it shall be
for a time, times, and half a time; and when the power of the
holy people has been completely shattered, all these things shall
be finished.
Matthew
24:15-16
15 "Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,'
spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place"
(whoever reads, let him understand),
16 "then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
Matthew
24:21
21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been
since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever
shall be.
Matthew
24:29
29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun
will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars
will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
Revelation 11:1-2
1 Then I was given a reed like a measuring rod. And the angel
stood, saying, "Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar,
and those who worship there.
2 But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do
not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they
will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months.
The
two witnesses:
Revelation
11:1-13
1 Then I was given a reed like a measuring rod. And the angel
stood, saying, "Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar,
and those who worship there.
2 But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do
not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they
will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months.
3 And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy
one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth."
4 These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands standing
before the God of the earth.
5 And if anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouth
and devours their enemies. And if anyone wants to harm them, he
must be killed in this manner.
6 These have power to shut heaven, so that no rain falls in the
days of their prophecy; and they have power over waters to turn
them to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often
as they desire.
7 When they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out
of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them,
and kill them.
8 And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city
which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord
was crucified.
9 Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations will
see their dead bodies three-and-a-half days, and not allow their
dead bodies to be put into graves.
10 And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, make
merry, and send gifts to one another, because these two prophets
tormented those who dwell on the earth.
11 Now after the three-and-a-half days the breath of life from
God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear
fell on those who saw them.
12 And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come
up here." And they ascended to heaven in a cloud, and their
enemies saw them.
13 In the same hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth
of the city fell. In the earthquake seven thousand people were
killed, and the rest were afraid and gave glory to the God of
heaven.
Jeremiah
5:14
14 Therefore thus says the LORD God of hosts: "Because you
speak this word,
Behold, I will make My words in your mouth fire, And this people
wood, And it shall devour them.
James
5:16-18
16 The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly
that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three
years and six months.
18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth
produced its fruit.
1
Kings 17:1
1 And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said
to Ahab, "As the LORD God of Israel lives, before whom I
stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at
my word."
Exodus
7:17
17 Thus says the LORD: "By this you shall know that I am
the LORD. Behold, I will strike the waters which are in the river
with the rod that is in my hand, and they shall be turned to blood.
Revelation
13:16-18
16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and
slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads,
17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark
or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the
number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number

Kings 2:11
11 Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly
a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated
the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
Genesis
5:23-24
23 So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five
years.
24 And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.
The
healing waters:
Ezekiel
47:1-12
1 Then he brought me back to the door of the temple; and there
was water, flowing from under the threshold of the temple toward
the east, for the front of the temple faced east; the water was
flowing from under the right side of the temple, south of the
altar.
2 He brought me out by way of the north gate, and led me
around on the outside to the outer gateway that faces east; and
there was water, running out on the right side.
3 And when the man went out to the east with the line in his hand,
he measured one thousand cubits, and he brought me through the
waters; the water came up to my ankles.
4 Again he measured one
thousand and brought me through the waters; the water came up
to my knees. Again he measured one thousand and brought me through;
the water came up to my waist.
5 Again he measured one thousand, and it was a river that I could
not cross; for the water was too deep, water in which one must
swim, a river that could not be crossed.
6 He said to me, "Son of man, have you seen this?" Then
he brought me and returned me to the bank of the river.
7 When I returned, there, along the bank of the river, were very
many trees on one side and the other.
8 Then he said to me: "This water flows toward the eastern
region, goes down into the valley, and enters the sea. When it
reaches the sea, its waters are healed.
9 And it shall be that every living thing that moves, wherever
the rivers go, will live. There will be a very great multitude
of fish, because these waters go there; for they will be healed,
and everything will live wherever the river goes.
10 It shall be that fishermen will stand by it from En Gedi to
En Eglaim; they will be places for spreading their nets. Their
fish will be of the same kinds as the fish of the Great Sea, exceedingly
many.
11 But its swamps and marshes will not be healed; they will be
given over to salt.
12 Along the bank of the river, on this side and that, will grow
all kinds of trees used for food; their leaves will not wither,
and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month,
because their water flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will
be for food, and their leaves for medicine."
Zechariah
14:8-9
8 And in that day it shall be That living waters shall flow from
Jerusalem, Half of them toward the eastern sea And half of them
toward the western sea; In both summer and winter it shall occur.
9 And the LORD shall be King over all the earth. In that day it
shall be - "The LORD is one," And His name one.
Psalms
46:1-7
1 God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains
shake with its swelling. Selah
4 There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God,
The holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High.
5 God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall
help her, just at the break of dawn.
6 The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved; He uttered His voice,
the earth melted.
7 The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge.
Joel
3:18
18 And it will come to pass in that day That the mountains shall
drip with new wine, The hills shall flow with milk, And all the
brooks of Judah shall be flooded with water; A fountain shall
flow from the house of the LORD And water the Valley of Acacias.
John
4:13-14
13 Jesus answered and said to her, "Whoever drinks of this
water will thirst again,
14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will
never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become
in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life."
John
7:37-38
37 "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.
38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his
heart will flow rivers of living water."
David returns:
Jeremiah
33:14-18
14 'Behold, the days are coming,' says the LORD, 'that I will
perform that good thing which I have promised to the house of
Israel and to the house of Judah:
15 'In those days and at that time I will cause to grow up to
David A Branch of righteousness; He shall execute judgment and
righteousness in the earth.
16 In those days Judah will be saved, And Jerusalem will dwell
safely. And this is the name by which she will be called: THE
LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.'
17 "For thus says the LORD: 'David shall never lack a man
to sit on the throne of the house of Israel;
18 nor shall the priests, the Levites, lack a man to offer burnt
offerings before Me, to kindle grain offerings, and to sacrifice
continually.'"
Ezekiel
34:22-24
22 I will save My flock, and they shall no longer be a prey; and
I will judge between sheep and sheep.
23 I will establish one shepherd over them, and he shall feed
them - My servant David. He shall feed them and be their shepherd.
24 And I, the LORD, will be their God, and My servant David a
prince among them; I, the LORD, have spoken.
Ezekiel
37:24-25
24 "David My servant shall be king over them, and they shall
all have one shepherd; they shall also walk in My judgments and
observe My statutes, and do them.
25 Then they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Jacob
My servant, where your fathers dwelt; and they shall dwell there,
they, their children, and their children's children, forever;
and My servant David shall be their prince forever.
Hosea
3:4-5
4 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without king
or prince, without sacrifice or sacred pillar, without ephod or
teraphim.
5 Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the LORD
their God and David their king. They shall fear the LORD and His
goodness in the latter days.
A
highway of Holiness:
Isaiah
11:16
16 There will be a highway for the remnant of His people Who will
be left from Assyria, As it was for Israel In the day that he
came up from the land of Egypt.
Isaiah
19:23-25
23 In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria,
and the Assyrian will come into Egypt and the Egyptian into Assyria,
and the Egyptians will serve with the Assyrians.
24 In that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria
- a blessing in the midst of the land,
25 whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, "Blessed is
Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel
My inheritance."
Isaiah
35:8-10
8 A highway shall be there, and a road, And it shall be called
the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, But
it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool,
Shall not go astray.
9 No lion shall be there, Nor shall any ravenous beast go up on
it; It shall not be found there. But the redeemed shall walk there,
10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, And come to Zion
with singing, With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall
obtain joy and gladness, And sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
Isaiah
40:3-5
3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness: "Prepare the
way of the LORD; Make straight in the desert A highway for our
God.
4 Every valley shall be exalted And every mountain and hill brought
low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough places
smooth;
5 The glory of the LORD shall be revealed, And all flesh shall
see it together; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken."
Isaiah
49:11-13
11 I will make each of My mountains a road, And My highways shall
be elevated.
12 Surely these shall come from afar; Look! Those from the north
and the west, And these from the land of Sinim."
13 Sing, O heavens! Be joyful, O earth! And break out in singing,
O mountains! For the LORD has comforted His people, And will have
mercy on His afflicted.
All
nations come to Jerusalem (penalties if they do not):
Isaiah
60:10-12
10 "The sons of foreigners shall build up your walls, And
their kings shall minister to you;
For in My wrath I struck you, But in My favor I have had mercy
on you.
11 Therefore your gates shall be open continually; They shall
not be shut day or night, That men may bring to you the wealth
of the Gentiles, And their kings in procession.
12 For the nation and kingdom which will not serve you shall perish,
And those nations shall be utterly ruined.
Jeremiah
3:17
17 "At that time Jerusalem shall be called The Throne of
the LORD, and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to the
name of the LORD, to Jerusalem. No more shall they follow the
dictates of their evil hearts.
Zechariah
8:20-23
20 "Thus says the LORD of hosts: Peoples shall yet come,
Inhabitants of many cities;
21 The inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, "Let
us continue to go and pray before the LORD, And seek the LORD
of hosts. I myself will go also."
22 Yes, many peoples and strong nations Shall come to seek the
LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, And to pray before the LORD.'
23 "Thus says the LORD of hosts: 'In those days ten men from
every language of the nations shall grasp the sleeve of a Jewish
man, saying, "Let us go with you, for we have heard that
God is with you."'"
Zechariah
10:1
1 Ask the LORD for rain In the time of the latter rain. The LORD
will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain,
Grass in the field for everyone.
Zechariah
14:16-19
16 And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left
of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from
year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep
the Feast of Tabernacles.
17 And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth
do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts,
on them there will be no rain.
18 If the family of Egypt will not come up and enter in, they
shall have no rain; they shall receive the plague with which the
LORD strikes the nations who do not come up to keep the Feast
of Tabernacles.
19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of
all the nations that do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.
Micah
4:1-2
1 Now it shall come to pass in the latter days That the mountain
of the LORD's house Shall be established on the top of the mountains,
And shall be exalted above the hills; And peoples shall flow to
it.
2 Many nations shall come and say, "Come, and let us go up
to the mountain of the LORD, To the house of the God of Jacob; He
will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths."
For out of Zion the law shall go forth, And the word of the LORD
from Jerusalem.
The lame, the deaf and
those who are last will be first:
Isaiah
35:3-10
3 Strengthen the weak hands , And make firm the feeble knees.
4 Say to those who are fearful-hearted, "Be strong, do not
fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense
of God; He will come and save you."
5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, And the ears of
the deaf shall be unstopped.
6 Then the lame shall leap like a deer, And the tongue of the
dumb sing. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, And
streams in the desert.
7 The parched ground shall become a pool, And the thirsty land
springs of water; In the habitation of jackals, where each lay,
There shall be grass with reeds and rushes.
Isaiah
61:1-3
1 "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD
has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent
Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, And the day of
vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn,
3 To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for
ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for
the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified."
Zephaniah
3:19
19 Behold, at that time I will deal with all who afflict you;
I will save the lame, And gather those who were driven out; I
will appoint them for praise and fame In every land where they
were put to shame.
Micah
4:6-7
6 "In that day," says the LORD, "I will assemble
the lame, I will gather the outcast And those whom I have afflicted;
7 I will make the lame a remnant, And the outcast a strong nation;
So the LORD will reign over them in Mount Zion From now on, even
forever.
Matthew
10:29-31
29 Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of
them falls to the ground apart from your Father's will.
30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
Matthew
20:16
16 So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are
called, but few chosen."
Mark
10:23-31
23 Then Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, "How
hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!"
24 And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered
again and said to them, "Children, how hard it is for those
who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God!
25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle
than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
26 And they were greatly astonished, saying among themselves,
"Who then can be saved?"
27 But Jesus looked at them and said, "With men it is impossible,
but not with God; for with God all things are possible."
28 Then Peter began to say to Him, "See, we have left all
and followed You."
29 So Jesus answered and said, "Assuredly, I say to you,
there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father
or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel's,
30 who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time - houses
and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with
persecutions - and in the age to come, eternal life.
31 But many who are first will be last, and the last first."
Luke
12:48
48 But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of
stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is
given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been
committed, of him they will ask the more.
Romans
8:18
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not
worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in
us.
Romans
8:28
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those
who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
1
Corinthians 1:26-31
26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according
to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.
27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to
shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world
to put to shame the things which are mighty;
28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised
God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing
the things that are,
29 that no flesh should glory in His presence.
30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom
from God - and righteousness and sanctification and redemption
-
31 that, as it is written, "He who glories, let him glory
in the LORD."
1
Corinthians 15:50-58
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit
the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we
shall all be changed -
52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.
For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible,
and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal
must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this
mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the
saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory."
55 "O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your
victory?"
56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our
Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always
abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is
not in vain in the Lord.
2
Corinthians 4:16-18
16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man
is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working
for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,
18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the
things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary,
but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Colossians
1:16-18
16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that
are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions
or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him
and for Him.
17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.
Hebrews
12:11-13
11 Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful;
nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness
to those who have been trained by it.
12 Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble
knees,
13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame
may not be dislocated, but rather be healed.
James
2:5
5 Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of
this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which
He promised to those who love Him?
James
4:13-17
13 Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to
such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make
a profit";
14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what
is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time
and then vanishes away.
15 Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall
live and do this or that."
16 But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.
17 Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it,
to him it is sin.
James
5:10-12
10 My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the
Lord, as an example of suffering and patience.
11 Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of
the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord
- that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.
12 But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven
or by earth or with any other oath. But let your "Yes"
be "Yes," and your "No," "No," lest
you fall into judgment.
Revelation
7:16-17
16 "They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore;
the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat;
17 for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd
them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will
wipe away every tear from their eyes."
Revelation
21:1-8
1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven
and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.
2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down
out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the
tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and
they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be
their God.
4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall
be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more
pain, for the former things have passed away."
5 Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all
things new. " And He said to me, "Write, for these words
are true and faithful."
6 And He said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the
Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain
of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.
7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his
God and he shall be My son.
8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually
immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their
part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is
the second death."
A
pure language, you and the Lord called by a new name:
Zephaniah
3:8-9
8 My determination is to gather the nations To My assembly of
kingdoms, To pour on them My indignation, All My fierce anger;
All the earth shall be devoured With the fire of My jealousy.
9 "For then I will restore to the peoples a pure language,
That they all may call on the name of the LORD, To serve Him with
one accord.
Isaiah
62:2-3
2 The Gentiles shall see your righteousness, And all kings your
glory. You shall be called by a new name, Which the mouth of the
LORD will name.
3 You shall also be a crown of glory In the hand of the LORD,
And a royal diadem In the hand of your God.
Revelation
2:17
17 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says
to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the
hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on
the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who
receives it."'
Revelation
3:12
12 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of
My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name
of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem,
which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on
him My new name.
No
sun, no moon, no sea, no Temple, no physical bodies, no aging,
marriage is spiritual:
Isaiah
49:10
10 They shall neither hunger nor thirst, Neither heat nor sun
shall strike them;
For He who has mercy on them will lead them, Even by the springs
of water He will guide them.
Isaiah
60:19-20
19 "The sun shall no longer be your light by day, Nor for
brightness shall the moon give light to you; But the LORD will
be to you an everlasting light, And your God your glory.
20 Your sun shall no longer go down, Nor shall your moon withdraw
itself;
For the LORD will be your everlasting light,
Psalms
39:4-5
4 "LORD, make me to know my end, And what is the measure
of my days, That I may know how frail I am.
5 Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths, And my age is
as nothing before You; Certainly every man at his best state is
but vapor.
Isaiah
65:20
20 "No more shall an infant from there live but a few days,
Nor an old man who has not fulfilled his days; For the child shall
die one hundred years old, But the sinner being one hundred years
old shall be accursed.
Zechariah
8:4-5
4 "Thus says the LORD of hosts: 'Old men and old women shall
again sit In the streets of Jerusalem,
Each one with his staff in his hand Because of great age.
5 The streets of the city Shall be full of boys and girls Playing
in its streets.'
Matthew
22:23-30
23 The same day the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection,
came to Him and asked Him,
24 saying: "Teacher, Moses said that if a man dies, having
no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up offspring
for his brother.
25 Now there were with us seven brothers. The first died after
he had married, and having no offspring, left his wife to his
brother.
26 Likewise the second also, and the third, even to the seventh.
27 Last of all the woman died also.
28 Therefore, in the resurrection, whose wife of the seven will
she be? For they all had her."
29 Jesus answered and said to them, "You are mistaken, not
knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in
marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven.
Revelation
21:1
1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven
and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.
Revelation
21:22-26
22 But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the
Lamb are its temple.
23 The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in
it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.
24 And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light,
and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it.
25 Its gates shall not be shut at all by day(there shall be no
night there).
26 And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations
into it.
Eden
restored:
Isaiah
51:3
3 For the LORD will comfort Zion, He will comfort all her waste
places; He will make her wilderness like Eden, And her desert
like the garden of the LORD; Joy and gladness will be found in
it, Thanksgiving and the voice of melody.
Ezekiel
34:25-31
25 "I will make a covenant of peace with them, and cause
wild beasts to cease from the land; and they will dwell safely
in the wilderness and sleep in the woods.
26 I will make them and the places all around My hill a blessing;
and I will cause showers to come down in their season; there shall
be showers of blessing.
27 Then the trees of the field shall yield their fruit, and the
earth shall yield her increase. They shall be safe in their land;
and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the
bands of their yoke and delivered them from the hand of those
who enslaved them.
28 And they shall no longer be a prey for the nations, nor shall
beasts of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and
no one shall make them afraid.
29 I will raise up for them a garden of renown, and they shall
no longer be consumed with hunger in the land, nor bear the shame
of the Gentiles anymore.
30 Thus they shall know that I, the LORD their God, am with them,
and they, the house of Israel, are My people," says the Lord
GOD.'"
31 "You are My flock, the flock of My pasture; you are men,
and I am your God," says the Lord GOD.
Ezekiel
36:24-32
24 For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out
of all countries, and bring you into your own land.
25 Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean;
I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your
idols.
26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you;
I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you
a heart of flesh.
27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My
statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.
28 Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers;
you shall be My people, and I will be your God.
29 I will deliver you from all your uncleannesses. I will call
for the grain and multiply it, and bring no famine upon you.
30 And I will multiply the fruit of your trees and the increase
of your fields, so that you need never again bear the reproach
of famine among the nations.
31 Then you will remember your evil ways and your deeds that were
not good; and you will loathe yourselves in your own sight, for
your iniquities and your abominations.
32 Not for your sake do I do this," says the Lord GOD, "let
it be known to you. Be ashamed and confounded for your own ways,
O house of Israel!"
Sacrifices
restarted and stopped:
Daniel
9:27
27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But
in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and
offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes
desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is
poured out on the desolate."
Daniel
11:31
31 And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile
the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices,
and place there the abomination of desolation.
Deuteronomy
33:18-19
18 And of Zebulun he said: "Rejoice, Zebulun, in your going
out, And Issachar in your tents!
19 They shall call the peoples to the mountain; There they shall
offer sacrifices of righteousness; For they shall partake of the
abundance of the seas And of treasures hidden in the sand."
Zechariah
8:19
19 "Thus says the LORD of hosts :'The fast of the fourth
month, The fast of the fifth, The fast of the seventh, And the
fast of the tenth, Shall be joy and gladness and cheerful feasts
For the house of Judah. Therefore love truth and peace.'
Psalms
4:5
5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, And put your trust in
the LORD.
Psalms
51:15-19
15 O Lord, open my lips, And my mouth shall show forth Your praise.
16 For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You
do not delight in burnt offering.
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite
heart - These, O God, You will not despise.
18 Do good in Your good pleasure to Zion; Build the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then You shall be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness,
With burnt offering and whole burnt offering; Then they shall
offer bulls on Your altar.
Psalms
72:1-20
1 Give the king Your judgments, O God, And Your righteousness
to the king's Son.
2 He will judge Your people with righteousness, And Your poor
with justice.
3 The mountains will bring peace to the people, And the little
hills, by righteousness.
4 He will bring justice to the poor of the people; He will save
the children of the needy, And will break in pieces the oppressor.
5 They shall fear You As long as the sun and moon endure, Throughout
all generations.
6 He shall come down like rain upon the grass before mowing, Like
showers that water the earth.
7 In His days the righteous shall flourish, And abundance of peace,
Until the moon is no more.
8 He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, And from the River
to the ends of the earth.
9 Those who dwell in the wilderness will bow before Him, And His
enemies will lick the dust.
10 The kings of Tarshish and of the isles Will bring presents;
The kings of Sheba and Seba Will offer gifts.
11 Yes, all kings shall fall down before Him ;All nations shall
serve Him.
12 For He will deliver the needy when he cries, The poor also,
and him who has no helper.
13 He will spare the poor and needy,
And will save the souls of the needy.
14 He will redeem their life from oppression and violence; And
precious shall be their blood in His sight.
15 And He shall live; And the gold of Sheba will be given to Him;
Prayer also will be made for Him continually, And daily He shall
be praised.
16 There will be an abundance of grain in the earth, On the top
of the mountains; Its fruit shall wave like Lebanon ;And those
of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.
17 His name shall endure forever; His name shall continue as long
as the sun. And men shall be blessed in Him; All nations shall
call Him blessed.
18 Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, Who only does wondrous
things!
19 And blessed be His glorious name forever! And let the whole
earth be filled with His glory .Amen and Amen.
20 The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended
Psalms
85:8-13
8 I will hear what God the LORD will speak, For He will speak
peace To His people and to His saints; But let them not turn back
to folly.
9 Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, That glory
may dwell in our land.
10 Mercy and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace
have kissed.
11 Truth shall spring out of the earth, And righteousness shall
look down from heaven.
12 Yes, the LORD will give what is good; And our land will yield
its increase.
13 Righteousness will go before Him, And shall make His footsteps
our pathway.
Jeremiah
33:15-18
15 In those days and at that time I will cause to grow up to David
A Branch of righteousness; He shall execute judgment and righteousness
in the earth.
16 In those days Judah will be saved, And Jerusalem will dwell
safely. And this is the name by which she will be called: THE
LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.'
17 "For thus says the LORD: 'David shall never lack a man
to sit on the throne of the house of Israel;
18 nor shall the priests, the Levites, lack a man to offer burnt
offerings before Me, to kindle grain offerings, and to sacrifice
continually.'"
Malachi
3:3-4
3 He will purify the sons of Levi, And purge them as gold and
silver, That they may offer to the LORD An offering in righteousness.
4 "Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem Will be pleasant
to the LORD, As in the days of old, As in former years.
Galatians
5:4-6
4 You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be
justified by law; you have fallen from grace.
5 For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness
by faith.
6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision
avails anything, but faith working through love.
Books
and other books, opened:
Daniel
7:10
10 The court was seated, And the books were opened.
Malachi
3:16-17
16 Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, And the
LORD listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written
before Him For those who fear the LORD And who meditate on His
name.
17 "They shall be Mine," says the LORD of hosts, "On
the day that I make them My jewels. And I will spare them As a
man spares his own son who serves him."
Revelation
3:4-5
4 You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their
garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy.
5 He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will
not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess
his name before My Father and before His angels.
Revelation
13:7-8
7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome
them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and
nation.
8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have
not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the
foundation of the world.
Revelation
17:8
8 The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out
of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell
on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book
of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast
that was, and is not, and yet is.
Revelation
20:11-15
11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from
whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found
no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and
books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book
of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by
the things which were written in the books.
13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades
delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged,
each one according to his works.
14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This
is the second death.
15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into
the lake of fire.
Jesus judges between sheep and goats, God will judge between sheep and
sheep:
Ezekiel 34:17-22
17 'And as for you, O My flock, thus says the Lord GOD:"Behold,
I shall judge between sheep and sheep, between rams and goats.
18 Is it too little for you to have eaten up the good pasture,
that you must tread down with your feet the residue of your pasture
- and to have drunk of the clear waters, that you must foul the
residue with your feet?
19 And as for My flock, they eat what you have trampled with your
feet, and they drink what you have fouled with your feet."
20 'Therefore thus says the Lord GOD to them:"Behold, I Myself
will judge between the fat and the lean sheep.
21 Because you have pushed with side and shoulder, butted all
the weak ones with your horns, and scattered them abroad,
22 therefore I will save My flock, and they shall no longer be
a prey; and I will judge between sheep and sheep.
Zechariah
10:2-3
2 For the idols speak delusion; The diviners envision lies, And
tell false dreams; They comfort in vain. Therefore the people
wend their way like sheep; They are in trouble because there is
no shepherd.
3 "My anger is kindled against the shepherds, And I will
punish the goatherds. For the LORD of hosts will visit His flock,
Matthew
25:31-33
31 "When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy
angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.
32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate
them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the
goats.
33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats
on the left.
The
weather report when Jesus returns:
Ezekiel
34:11-12
11 'For thus says the Lord GOD: "Indeed I Myself will search
for My sheep and seek them out.
12 As a shepherd seeks out his flock on the day he is among his
scattered sheep, so will I seek out My sheep and deliver them
from all the places where they were scattered on a cloudy and
dark day.
Joel
2:1-2
1 Blow the trumpet in Zion, And sound an alarm in My holy mountain!
Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; For the day of the
LORD is coming, For it is at hand:
2 A day of darkness and gloominess, A day of clouds and thick
darkness, Like the morning clouds spread over the mountains. A
people come, great and strong, The like of whom has never been;
Zephaniah
1:15
15 That day is a day of wrath, A day of trouble and distress,
A day of devastation and desolation, A day of darkness and gloominess,
A day of clouds and thick darkness,
Zechariah
14:6-7
6 It shall come to pass in that day That there will be no light;
The lights will diminish.
7 It shall be one day Which is known to the LORD - Neither day
nor night. But at evening time it shall happen That it will be
light.
Matthew
24:29-31
29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun
will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars
will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and
then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see
the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great
glory.
31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet,
and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from
one end of heaven to the other.
God's
protection of His people during the beginning of the tribulation:
Ezekiel
34:13-16
13 And I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them
from the countries, and will bring them to their own land; I will
feed them on the mountains of Israel, in the valleys and in all
the inhabited places of the country.
14 I will feed them in good pasture, and their fold shall be on
the high mountains of Israel. There they shall lie down in a good
fold and feed in rich pasture on the mountains of Israel.
15 I will feed My flock, and I will make them lie down,"
says the Lord GOD.
16 "I will seek what was lost and bring back what was driven
away, bind up the broken and strengthen what was sick; but I will
destroy the fat and the strong, and feed them in judgment."
Zechariah
14:1-5
1 Behold, the day of the LORD is coming, And your spoil will be
divided in your midst.
2 For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem;
The city shall be taken,
The houses rifled, And the women ravished. Half of the city shall
go into captivity, But the remnant of the people shall not be
cut off from the city.
3 Then the LORD will go forth And fight against those nations,
As He fights in the day of battle.
4 And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives,
Which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall
be split in two, From east to west, Making a very large valley;
Half of the mountain shall move toward the north And half of it
toward the south.
5 Then you shall flee through My mountain valley, For the mountain
valley shall reach to Azal. Yes, you shall flee As you fled from
the earthquake In the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Thus the LORD
my God will come, And all the saints with You.
Luke
21:20-24
20 "But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then
know that its desolation is near.
21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let
those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who
are in the country enter her.
22 For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which
are written may be fulfilled.
23 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing
babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the
land and wrath upon this people.
24 And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away
captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles
until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
New
Jerusalem:
Isaiah
66:22
22 "For as the new heavens and the new earth Which I will
make shall remain before Me," says the LORD, "So shall
your descendants and your name remain.
Revelation
21:9-11
9 "Come, I will show you the bride, the Lamb's wife."
10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain,
and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out
of heaven from God,
11 having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious
stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal.
Revelation 21:12-27
12 Also she had a great and high wall with twelve gates, and twelve
angels at the gates, and names written on them, which are the
names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
13 three gates on the east, three gates on the north, three gates
on the south, and three gates on the west.
14 Now the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them
were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
15 And he who talked with me had a gold reed to measure the city,
its gates, and its wall.
16 The city is laid out as a square; its length is as great as
its breadth. And he measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand
furlongs. Its length, breadth, and height are equal.
17 Then he measured its wall: one hundred and forty-four cubits,
according to the measure of a man, that is, of an angel.
18 The construction of its wall was of jasper; and the city was
pure gold, like clear glass.
19 The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all
kinds of precious stones: the first foundation was jasper, the
second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald,
20 the fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite,
the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the
eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.
21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls: each individual gate was
of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent
glass.
25 Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no
night there).
26 And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations
into it.
27 But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles,
or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written
in the Lamb's Book of Life.
Revelation
22:1-5
1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal,
proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river,
was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding
its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing
of the nations.
3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and
of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.
4 They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads.
5 There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of
the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign
forever and ever.
